Staff Training & Development Policy

At Edurium, we are committed to providing the highest quality tuition services. Our staff training and development policy ensures that all tutors and staff are well-prepared, qualified, and continuously improving to deliver excellent educational outcomes for our students.

Policy Aims

  • Ensure all staff receive appropriate induction and ongoing training.
    • Support professional development to maintain and improve teaching quality.
    • Encourage reflective practice, innovation, and continuous improvement.
    • Prioritise safeguarding, health and safety, and compliance training.
    • Develop leadership potential and specialist subject expertise.

Recruitment & Induction

  • We prioritise recruiting staff from Russell Group universities or graduates with strong subject expertise.
    • All new staff complete an induction covering safeguarding, health and safety, behaviour management, and Edurium’s ethos.
    • Staff contracts are initially fixed-term and hourly based. Permanent contracts (part-time/full-time) are offered only to staff with at least two years of consistent, successful performance.

Ongoing Training & CPD

  • All staff are expected to attend annual safeguarding and Prevent Duty training.
    • Subject-specific CPD workshops are provided throughout the year.
    • Training includes classroom management, assessment strategies, and digital learning tools.
    • Staff are encouraged to pursue external training and qualifications, with support from Edurium where possible.

Mentoring & Performance Development

  • Senior staff and experienced tutors provide mentoring for new recruits.
    • Performance is reviewed through regular observations, feedback sessions, and student results.
    • Staff achieving outstanding performance may be supported to become lead tutors or academic managers.

Safeguarding & Compliance

  • All staff must complete safeguarding training annually.
    • Compliance with data protection, equality, diversity, and inclusion policies is mandatory.
    • Staff are trained to manage risks within community centres and church-based venues where Edurium operates.

Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains up to date with educational standards, legal requirements, and Edurium’s commitment to excellence.
